The Wild Race Series 2009
The dates of the 2009 Wild Race series have been announced by All Terrain Events. This series of trailraces are some of the most popular events on the North East running calendar partially because, as the name suggests, of the scenic locations where each race is held. They regularly attract large fields of runners so early entry would be recommended.
Race 1 May 17 Hamsterley Forest, Co Durham 12 km +/-
Race 2 June 21 Bowderdale, Eden Valley, Cumbria 18 km +/-
Race 3 July 5 Kielder Forest, Northumberland 15 km +/-
Further details and entry forms can be found on the All Terrain Events website at www.allterrainevents.com
Breamish and Harthope valleys now open.
Following last September's severe flooding in Northumberland which cut-off the Breamish and Harthope valleys access has now been fully restored. So now is the time to pull on your boots and pick-up your copy of The Cheviot Hills or Walks from Wooler and go for a wander round these magnificent hills. Recommended walks to explore these little gems are The Ultimate Harthope Circuit from The Cheviot Hills book and Cold Law Considered from Walks from Wooler.
