A network of public rights of way crosses the varied landscape of this country and in many places these have been joined to form long distance walks.
Walks that extend from twenty miles to, in some cases, several hundred miles. Some of the more popular of these walks have been adopted as National Trails while others, the majority, remain less well known.
In this section, our authors have produced a selection of guides to a number of long distance walks. Some of these are already well-established trails, others have come from the writer's own determination to produce a new route for walkers to savour and enjoy.
Two things that they all have in common, they traverse some of the most scenic landscapes this country has to offer and they present an interesting challenge to the walker that wants to go that little bit further.
